_{On Monday, January 17, 2011 from 8 to 10 p.m. the seventh international broadcast and series of concerts produced by Czech Radio and the EBU will be taking place within the global conceptual celebration of Art‘s Birthday 2011.}

It was on January 17, 1963, that the tradition of the global celebration of Art’s Birthday began. At that time, one of the members of the Fluxus network of artists, Robert Filliou, said that art had been born a million years before when a prehistoric artist had thrown a dried fungus into a vessel of water. Since then artists all around the world have been organizing a global “birthday party“ commemorating Filliou’s performance gesture as well as his dream of an eternal unity of artists – The Eternal Network.
