Every year, art celebrates its birthday on 17th January. This year it is already its 1,000,053rd birthday and Czech Radio, in cooperation with Prague’s National Gallery and its Trade Fair Palace, would like to invite both children and adults to the Sunday party. This time the global birthday party will be commemorating the 100th anniversary of the DADA movement, 106th anniversary of futurism and the more than fifty-year history of the Fluxus movement. All of that will be done by means of audiovisual workshops, performances, guided tours and different activities for adults as well as children.
The varied programme starts in the afternoon, when visitors will be able to become absorbed in the mysteries of sounds and noises, play the magic boxes inspired by Fluxus or play with words and record their own one-minute DADA. They will also be able to take guided tours or roam around the Trade Fair Palace’s collections on their own and listen to a live radio programme being broadcast right from the spot so as to tune in to the day’s climax, which will be a combination of the spoken word and music by Czech and Slovak performers.
