Christoph Lindemann (Germany)
Christoph is Head of Music at PULS, a progressive young station produced by the public network, Bayerischer Rundfunk. He runs the music department and is involved in all decisions on the station’s music strategy, as well as its TV and online output. He also works as the director of the PULS Festival.
What would be your advice for emerging musicians who want to make it abroad?
Obviously you usually have to put in a massive amount of work. Also – as we’ve seen with Milky Chance – you have to make your career your number one priority once things start rolling. They hesitated for a while before targeting the US. But now that they have, it's a full time job for almost all of 2015.
Have you ever won any competition? And are you a competitive person?
Me? I have won a couple of BMX races. I guess I am competitive but not overly so.
Have you ever played in a band, solo or as a DJ?
I have played guitar in horrible high school bands. I've been DJing (a bit more professionally than the early attempts as a band member) since 2007, having played SXSW, festival stages and hosted the long running "Britwoch" and " smart club" parties at Munich's The Atomic Café as a resident.
