CZECH RADIO EXPANDS ITS TEAM IN BRUSSELS

Czech Radio has increased the number of its reporters in Brussels, to three. It has sent an additional reporter to provide comprehensive coverage of the Czech Republic's presidency of the EU Council, from January until June 2009. As of Friday the 9th of January 2009, Czech Radio 2 reporter Jan Krelina has joined his colleagues in the Belgian capital.

Jan Krelina, one of the authors of the "European Stories" series broadcast by Czech Radio 2 - station Praha, will be reporting backstage from the European Union and its bodies. He will be looking to explore the personal and professional lives of the officials and experts working there in positions of interest.

Jan Krelina joins Pavel Novak, a permanent news correspondent who covers the Benelux countries, and Ondrej Houska, a political analyst for Czech Radio 6 who will remain in Brussels until the end of the Czech presidency.

The team will be using Czech Radio's recording and broadcasting studio located in Prague House, in Brussels, upon agreement with the Prague City Hall. The studio, which was set up in September 2008 then stress-tested later that year, will remain in operation until at least the end of the Czech presidency.

Czech Radio is a media partner of the Czech Republic's EU Council Presidency.
