Czech Radio to Collaborate with Radio Romania

4. únor 2015

Czech Radio has entered into a joint agreement with Romania’s public service broadcaster. The main elements of the partnership will involve the exchange of in-house produced radio programmes and mutual participation at festivals, competitions and cultural events.

Director General of Czech Radio, Peter Duhan, explains: “By concluding this agreement, Czech Radio and Radio România, as national public service broadcasting partners, have taken another step towards strengthening their traditional ties. I am happy that as two major European broadcasters we will be able to benefit from our shared experience – both in the areas of programming and broadcasting, and in relation to the presentation of our work at important radio festivals.”

The announcement of the joint agreement was also warmly welcomed by his Romanian counterpart, Ovidiu Miculescu, Director General of Radio România: “Our public service stations have entered into several contracts over the past 20 years and we take pride in the success of our most recent joint project launched last year when the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra took part in the second edition of the RadiRo festival.”

The collaboration between these two public service broadcasters will include, for example, the mutual and free exchange of in-house produced radio programmes. The public service media in both countries will take part in the radio festivals, competitions and cultural events organised in the respective countries and also provide mutual support. This partnership opens up new possibilities in the sphere of co-production, while showcasing the production of Czech language programmes broadcast on Romanian Radio.
