From Monday 24 to Thursday 27 November the Czech Radio headquarters will become a site of the 31st Prix Bohemia Radio festival – four days packed with public listening sessions presenting current radio production, debates with jury members, radio workshops and lectures.

This year radio programmes have competed in four categories. On the first festival day two of them will be introduced. The international Online Category “Using New Media For Public and Private Radios” is focused on web and mobile applications and social networks supporting radio programme. At the same time a public meeting of a jury for national Radio Documentary Category will be taking place. In the evening Municipal House in the Prague city centre will become the venue for a gala concert of the Prague Radio Symphonic Orchestra. During the evening the Jiří Ješ Prize and the Karel Kyncl Prize will be awarded together with the Thalia Prize for the best radio performance by an actor. As every year, a prominent figure that contributed to the history of Czech radio broadcasting will be inducted into the „Czech Radio Hall of Glory“.

The programme of the second festival day is aimed at production for children and young listeners. The Children´s Programme Category jury will consist of experts on production for children and theatre.

Wednesday, the third day of the festival, will be marked by the category “News programme Contribution – Report”, discussion forum on the future of journalism and international radio conference. During the international conference “Stream and Form – Two options and Two Strategies of Public Radio Broadcast” the possibility of finding a compromise between fast mainstream broadcasting, and slower composed one, will be discussed by Czech, Austrian and Swedish experts.

On the fourth day you are invited to public listening session, during which successful radio dramas, that have been awarded this year on international festivals Prix Europa, Prix Marulić and Prix Italia, will be presented.
