Projekt Flying Over Natura 2000 vychází z myšlenky Africké odyseje, kterou Český rozhlas realizoval v letech
1995 až 2000. Našimi "hlavními hrdiny" jsou i v projektu Flying Over Natura 2000 čápi černí, jejichž cestu do
zimovišť mapujeme za pomoci satelitní telemetrie. Na rozdíl od Africké odyseje však nyní sledujeme čápy černé nejen
z České republiky, ale z celkem osmi evropských zemí.
Flying Over Natura 2000 project results from the idea of African Odyssey, the project that Czech Radio
realized between 1995 and 2000. The "main heroes" of Flying Over Natura 2000 are Black storks again whose trace we
have been mapping using satellite telemetry. As opposed to African Odyssey, now we are tracking Black storks coming
not only from the Czech Republic, but from eight European countries as well.
Obrovského překvapení se dočkal ornitolog Yoav Perlman, sledující ptáky v Národním parku Hula Valley v Izraeli. Pátého června letošního roku zde zastihl, pozoroval a také fotografoval čápa, z jehož těla trčel asi metrový šíp.
Some two weeks ago Dalibor returned from his wintering grounds in Burkina Faso to the same area where he was nesting last year near Pilsen. During inspection of his nest it was clear on first sight that he has returned to the same one in which he spent time last year. New twigs have been added and faeces were clearly visible on the edge of the nest and on tree branches around.
