Czech Radio announces the details of the upcoming annual instalment of the Prix Bohemia Radio, a festival of original radio production. The 33rd annual instalment will take place in the city of Olomouc which will host this exciting showcase on 20-23 March 2017.

Visitors can look forward to a wide range of events, expert conferences, seminars, workshops, concerts and theatrical performances. The festival features several innovations including a new international competitive category.

The last instalment of the Prix Bohemia Radio festival, which took place in Olomouc for the first time, brought in hundreds of participants – experts, the general public and students of the Palacký University.

“Olomouc offered new venues, new possibilities and a completely new atmosphere and dimension to the festival. It became clear that the welcoming university town of Olomouc was an excellent and dignified base for the festival with its new international format focusing on cooperation between public service media in the V4 countries,” said René Zavoral., the Director-General of Czech Radio.

The main innovation introduced in the 33rd annual instalment will be a new competitive category. In addition to Drama and Documentary, authors will be able to enter works in the international Report category. For the first time in the festival’s history, participants will be able to submit their entries online via the prixbohemiaradio.cz website.

The accompanying programme will once again feature a wide range of events open to the general public which will take place at different locations in the city. Throughout the festival, Czech Radio will inform its listeners about the festival events as part of the regular programme of national and regional stations as well as through special programmes broadcast directly from the midst of the festival.
