Kryštof Marek
composer (born 1967)
Kryštof Marek is a Czech composer, conductor, pianist and arranger. Since late 1980s he has performed in many music and theatre projects in the broadest possible spectrum of music genres. Significant is his cooperation with symphonic enembles.
With the ensembles he introduced his works Sinael Jazz Symphony, symphonic suite Legends of Magical Prague, violin concerto Key to the Gardens, concerto for cor anglais and orchestra Heart of the Gardens, piano concerto Gate to the Gardens or Cycle of 12 symphonic songs and many others.
He has also composed and arranged music for big bands and chamber combinations. He has also composed three musicals. Let us mention at least Christmas Carol where he is the author of both music and lyrics. A significant part of his work is recorded on CD.
