Symphony No. 5 "Renaissance" - Jaroslav Krček

28. leden 2018

“It is always a joyful challenge for me to write a symphony. I called my fifth symphony the Renaissance symphony.

Not because I wanted to use some methods of that time but because I wanted to attempt returning music to the merits that music is supposed to have. Or, more exactly, I stopped searching for shocking means and I stopped searching for an experiment, but I did not stop searching for the beauty. It is upon the audience and the time to decide whether I have found at least part of it. However, this searching is always a part of a beautiful life for me. Therefore I can hope that these moments will be reflected in my music.”

The Symphony No. 5 "Renaissance" was premiered by the Prague Symphonic Orchestra FOK on 24 February 2010 with Jiří Kout as the conductor.

Other compositions by Jaroslav Krček published in Czech Radio:
Moravian duets - Antonín Dvořák / instr. J. Krček
