About the festival

Organised by Czech Radio's publishing company Radioservis, a. s., the Radio Autumn international music festival was established in 2009 when the Dvorak Hall of the Rudolfinum palace hosted its successful harbinger. The festival aims to offer the audience and radio listeners new, interesting concepts, support Czech music and young artists, present Czech and global premieres, and to promote less well-known compositions.
The “radio” attribute in the name of the festival expresses not only the fundamental idea of the festival, which is to bring together radio orchestras, but also its connection with Czech Radio as the main partner and co-organiser. Czech Radio records all the festival concerts, broadcasts them on its CRo 3 – Vltava station, and offers them to other public-service radio organisations – fellow members of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The Radio Autumn festival thus meets its second objective, i.e. to strengthen the public-service role of Czech Radio and the EBU.
