Martin Klusák: Princess In The Iron Mask

28. listopad 2014

New radiophonic fiction by young Czech composer inspired by the stay of North Koreans in the Czech Republic and by the docu-fiction film genre.

It is unclear whether the two main characters of the story, a man and a woman, are a North Korean couple. Although they speak Korean, they are forced by the System to work in a factory which produces unspecified goods, and which, with its huge dimensions, lies rather somewhere beyond the borders of our world, and can be described best as a science-fiction industrial space. The ambience of the location can't hide its Orwell-like dystopian outlines.

Also, it is not clear who the third character is - a mysterious female being, who always sings celestial melodies, albeit silently, as she is (or describing being…) weakened and chained by the System.

What is clear, however, is the fact that the Beroun town railway station announces an express train arriving from Prague - Main railway station, and that soon all three characters will enjoy blackberries from the Český Kras natural park.
