Born in 1961, Janíček is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he specialized in conceptual art under Miloš Šejn. Since the early 1990s, he has been actively involved in sound installations, sound objects, the creation of his own musical instruments and playing rhythmic instruments, with a focus on ambient industrial repetitive patterns.

Janíček frequently collaborates on theatre projects and participates in site-specific projects. Together with Tomáš Žižka he is a member of the mamapapa association.
