Hourglass

27. listopad 2004

A musical theatrical composition based on a 1970 radio play by Věra Linhartová. Adapted and directed by: Lukáš JiřičkaSound design: Matěj Kratochvíl With: Anna Synková, Martin Dusbaba, Jakub Prachař

Using Věra Linhartová's radio play, the authors of this production attempt to combine three characters' voices with an electronically processed vocal audio base for the entire piece. The text itself was written for radio by poet, writer and playwright Věra Linhratová, and lends itself well to the use of an electroacoustic musical basis. The play is a breathtaking literary piece - part drama, part philosophical essay - whose main dramatic and "musical" element is the human voice, layered, looped, and altered... the human voice is one of the central themes of "Hourglass".
