Reverend Dick a estetika zberateľstva

Nejedná sa o žiadnych nováčikov na scéne, členovia skupiny pôsobia v hudobnej i umeleckej oblasti už dlhé roky. Richard Bakeš a Daniel Vlček sú tiež súčasťou aktivistického umeleckého zoskupenia Groupe Guma Guar, v ktorom sa tiež podieľali na jeho hudobnej stránke. Ich súčasný projekt je možno menej politický, ale len na prvý pohľad. Estetika odpadu a záľuba v rekontextualizovaní starých hudobných nástrojov je pracovným nástrojom fungovania projektu Reverend Dick.

The members of the band are no novices on the music scene though. Richard Bakeš and Daniel Vlček are longstanding members of the activist art collective Groupe Guma Guar where they were also responsible for the music side of things, leaning towards faster more harsh sounds like breakcore, noise or tekno. Their current project, Reverend Dick, might seem less political, but only at first sight. With the aesthetics of waste and a penchant for recontextualizing old instruments as their current way of working, it is still politics at play, but of a different, more subtle kind.
