Východiska: Iná Hudba – Experimental Studio Bratislava Series 1

Stačí spomenúť francúzske štúdio a Pierrea Schaeffera alebo nemecký rozhlas, v ktorom pôsobil aj Karlheinz Stockhausen. Tento vývoj sa nevyhol ani komunistickej východnej Európe. Jedným z prvých experimentálnych rozhlasových štúdií bolo napríklad poľské štúdio, ktorého nahrávky v súčasnosti vydáva tamojší label Bôłt.

Na Slovensku momentálne prebieha podobná inicitíva, ktorá sa prostredníctvom série CD/LP snaží zmapovať aktivity Experimentálneho štúdia Bratislava. “Keď sa o histórii nehovorí, neexistuje. Hlavný dôvod je akási rekapitulácia tvorby troch generácií slovenských skladateľov elektroakustickej hudby a sónického artu. Ide o 50 rokov tvorby hľadačov nového,” hovorí iniciátor projektu Juraj Ďuriš.

Experimental radio studios played an important role in the history of electro-acoustic music of the 20th century. They provided space for sound artists and fiends of the sonic avant-garde to explore various music landscapes. The flagships of this field were European radio studios, for instance the French studio with musique concrete pioneer Pierre Schaeffer or the German radio with Karlheinz Stockhausen. This development also reached the then communist Eastern Europe. One of the first experimental radio studios behind the Iron Curtain was the Polish one, whose releases are currently brought back to the public attention courtesy of the imprint Bôłt.

In Slovakia, a similar initiative is currently taking place, which through a series of CDs and LPs tries to chart the sonic activities of the Experimental Studio Bratislava. “When history is not talked about, it doesn't exist. The main reason behind this anthology is a generation recap of the work of the three generations of Slovak composers of electroacoustic music and sonic art. These are fifty years of those who search for the new,” says the project's initiator Juraj Ďuriš.
