The orchestra members will launch the chamber series “This is Where the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra Lives” in Northern Europe – Finland and Sweden to be exact – when they play Jean Sibelius’ celebratory Andante festivo and Lars-Erik Larsson’s Concertino, in which they will accompany “their” horn player Jana Švadlenková.

The concert will continue with Nocturne for String Orchestra in B major, which Antonín Dvořák composed originally as the slow movement of his String Quartet No. 4.

The first concert of the season in Studio 1 will be concluded by Duett-Concertina, Richard Strauss’s melancholic but also playful late work completed in Switzerland in 1947. Its solo parts will be played by Lukáš Dittrich, deputy head of the clarinet group, and Milan Muzikář, head of the bassoon group.
