Eliška Weissová was born in Moravská Třebová in 1979. She studied singing at the Brno Conservatory and at Prague's Academy of Performing Arts with René Tuček. She also attended master classes held by Naděžda Kniplová and Peter Dvorský. 

She was successful in several singing competitions, such as the Ema Destinnová International Singing Competition in České Budějovice (Honourable Mention, 2000), the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary (1st place, 2004), the Queen Sonja Competition in Oslo (semi-finalist, 2005), the Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský Competition (3rd place, 2006) or the Competizione dell' Opera in Dresden (semi-finalist, 2007).

During her studies at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts she had an engagement in Olomouc performing the role of Florence (Britten: Albert Herring), with the Prague Chamber Opera she travelled on tour to Germany and Luxembourg, singing Marcellina (Rossini: The Barber of Seville) and, in the roles of Kate (Dvořák: The Devil and Kate) and Maddalena (G. Verdi: Rigoletto), she gave guest appearances in Ústí nad Labem and Plzeň. She was also invited by the Plzeň Opera to perform Verdi's Azucena (Il Trovatore) and Fenena (Nabucco), Puccini's Princess (Sister Angelica), the roles of the Archangel Gabriel and the Blacksmith's Daughter in Martinů's The Miracles of Mary, also the Witch (Dvořák: Rusalka) and Grandmother Buryjovka (Janáček: Jenufa).

Eliška Weissová has a permanent guest engagement at the National Theatre Opera in Prague. At this venue she performs roles such as the Mayor's Wife (Jenufa), Mozart's Third Lady (The Magic Flute) and Marcellina (The Marriage of Figaro). Visitors to opera productions will also have seen her in the North Bohemian Theatre in Ústí nad Labem. At the State Theatre in Košice she accepted an offer from the head of the opera company Peter Dvorský to take on the role of Ulrica (Verdi: A Masked Ball). Here she has also performed the roles of Azucena and the Witch.

Eliška Weissová also performs as a concert artist. Most recent engagements include Janáček's Glagolitic Mass in Rimini with the Prague Symphony Orchestra under conductor Peter Altrichter (2006) and a stage production of Janáček's songs and The Diary of One Who Disappeared at the Opéra National de Paris (Bastille) in 2007. In 2009 she was hugely successful in Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde at the Karlovy Vary Autumn Festival, and she undertook a tour of France with the Moravian Philharmonic in Olomouc, whose programme featured Mozart's Requiem.
