Zdeněk Rys, oboe
Member of Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Zdeněk Rys (born 1966) achieved noteworthy success and received a number of awards as early as in the course of his studies at Prague National Music Conservatory not only as a soloist but also as member of chamber ensembles (Dušek Musical Youth Contest, 2nd and 3rd place).
Shortly after his graduation, he became oboist and artistic leader of Prague Wind Trio; up to now, the Trio has given more than three hundred concerts, performing both at home and abroad (Japan, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France). In 1995 the Trio was awarded the First Prize in “Young Prague” Music Contest, which rocketed the ensemble into World Chamber Ensembles Contest held in Tokyo. In 2002, Rys also took up membership in Academia Wind quintet.
Since 1993, he has been engaged as oboist with Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra. In addition, his orchestral involvement includes collaboration with leading ensembles such as Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Symphony, Prague Chamber Orchestra, Virtuosi di Praga, etc. He also constantly collaborates with Studio Movie Orchestra. In the course of his career, he has performed in 38 countries.
