Vážná hudba

Cyklus, který sleduje prostřednictvím hudby průběh roku v nejrůznějších křesťanských církvích.

Každá nová série začíná vždy adventem a obsahuje cca 55 pořadů vysílaných v příslušnou neděli nebo svátek. Autory pořadů jsou muzikologové a interpreti, z nichž mnozí nahráli snímky pro Liturgický rok speciálně pro Český rozhlas. Zcela unikátní jsou v tomto směru cykly o gregoriánském chorálu se souborem Schola Gregoriana Pragensis a pět řad duchovních kantát Johanna Sebastiana Bacha.

Liturgical Year
A cycle which forms a two-hour music and news block with programmes Morning Word (prepared by our religious life section) and Spiritual Music. It follows the Christian year through Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox spiritual music - e.g. the Liturgical Year in the Cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach (four series broadcast so far, each consisting of sixty programmes), the Liturgical Year in Gregorian Chant (two series broadcast so far), the Liturgical Year in Czech Baroque Music, the Liturgical Year in the Music of Mozart and Haydn. Currently being broadcast is the Liturgical Year in the Music of Czech Classicism. The premiere of the Liturgical Year in Protestantism will start this Advent. The cycle aims to capture, as completely as possible, the specific time of year and the theme a given year is devoted to. Leading performers and musicologists collaborate on the programmes.
